1- Pong
This is a rather original fast food restaurant in the middle of Siem Reap, ideal for a quick and tasty lunch. Here you order at the cash register and pick up your tray once your number has been called.
Made from freshly baked brioche, fresh eggs and delicious fillings, Pong offers ultra-gourmet sanders. Whether it's crab, crispy chicken, or even fish, these fluffy little sandwiches are perfect for a comforting lunch. We also recommend you try the lychee and rose lemonade!

2- Lao Noodles
A small, comfortable and very cheap street restaurant that offers simple and efficient Asian food: wok noodles, pad thai, soups, or small brochettes... They made a great effort on the decoration which is really cute and the welcome very warm. We ate there several times and were never disappointed! Ideal for a quick lunch.

There's even another small restaurant next door that specializes in tuna and salmon, ideal if you're a fan of tataki or sashimi with a Khmer twist. Tip: Lôc Lac de thon is a delight! The staff are adorable and serve their customers in a very pretty little courtyard with a thousand pennants.

4- Daerleng
In Cambodian, daerleng means "to walk around". And that's exactly how we came across this sober and minimalist café-restaurant. Run by a couple of very nice French people, just in front of the magnificent Viroth, they have chosen to put the simple and greedy French cuisine in the spotlight: gratins, salads, sandwiches... Everything is homemade, with love. Ideal for lunch, followed by a good nap!

5- BAØ Kandal
To change a bit from Khmer cuisine but to stay in Asia, you absolutely have to try the Bao from Kandal! Hugo, the manager, brought this specialty directly from Taiwan: small baos, i.e. soft sandwiches, which will give you a big hug (especially the one with truffles which is excellent). You should also try homemade Shanghai noodles. Lots of flavors and low prices, we absolutely loved it.

Don't hesitate to come early (or late) as the reputation of this restaurant brings a lot of curious people. In a friendly atmosphere, you will be able to taste excellent cocktails and a mastered cuisine: pad thai, amok, fried rice, or curry. The menu is very varied, so you can go there many times.

9- The Viroth restaurant
If you follow us on Instagram, you'll have seen our passionate love for this independent hotel. The place is bathed in the 60s and 70s atmosphere and exudes charm. Its restaurant is a little jewel case of serenity along the pool, serving a fussy Khmer cuisine. We don't really recommend their western cuisine, it's more expensive and not necessarily the most interesting. However, we do love the Khmer dishes: the fish amok and the shrimp curry are delicious.
